The Gym Group’s Accelerate PT Programme
In 2023 we launched a new Accelerate PT programme to train qualified Fitness Trainers, collaborating with The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) and The Prince’s Trust. This is a bespoke Sector-Based-Work-Academy-Programme supporting candidates to become a fully qualified Fitness Trainer.
The Accelerate PT programme is open to people of all ages who are passionate about fitness and running their own business. The programme requires no prior qualifications and welcomes applications from those who are unemployed or looking to make a career change. It takes up to eight weeks to complete, with training in areas such as nutrition, health and safety, and client consultations, delivered by The Gym Group’s training partner, Virtual Health + Fitness Education (VHF). Additional support includes specialised coaching on becoming self-employed and successfully building your own business.

All those who successfully complete the Accelerate PT programme will:
Qualify with an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training, and Emergency First Aid at Work.
Have the opportunity to become a Fitness Trainer in one of our gyms.
