Your body is a complex machine that requires the right fuel to keep it running at full efficiency. The good news is that you don’t need expensive super foods to achieve this; a simple balance of complex carbohydrates, proteins and good fats will do the job. By simply sticking to natural foods and steering clear of junk you’ll feel more energised and find your body runs much more effectively.
To stay feeling fit and healthy, try thinking of as many ways as possible to keep your body moving each day. Schedule in a pre-work gym trip, park the car further out of town, walk up and down escalators, use the stairs instead of the lift or go for a walk during your lunch break rather than sitting at your desk or in the canteen. It may not feel like much, but it all helps!
A healthy, balanced diet is surprisingly simple; aim to fill half your plate at lunch and dinner with salad and/or vegetables (such as steamed broccoli, green beans, kale or spinach), a quarter with protein (such as lean meat, beans, lentils or oily fish) and a quarter with wholegrain carbs (such a brown rice, wholemeal pasta or quinoa). Follow this approach every day and you can’t go too far wrong.
